COUCH was founded after Cairns resident Liz Plummer shared her story to push for better oncology services in Far North Queensland, where cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. Before COUCH, patients had to travel to Townsville or Brisbane for treatment, causing unnecessary pain and suffering.
