Jordan Biondi-Odo will don the butcher’s strips once again in 2024 as captain coach of back to back premiers Cairns Brothers.
Jordan joined Brothers from the Northern Pride in ahead of the 2021 season which saw Brothers take out the minor premiership before going on to win both 2022 and 2023 A- Grade premierships.
Jordan commented “I’m happy to be back, I’ve really enjoyed my time at the club this past 3 years, the club has really looked after me and I hope I can continue to repay them on an off the field”.
“It has been a crazy 3 years, being challenged every game, we’ve faced adversity on and off the field at times, in particular 2023 – which made things a challenge – challenging but fun. Having the opportunity to try and go for a “three peat” is something I really wanted to pursue, not many people get the opportunity, we know it will be tougher again. We are strong club with good structures in place and as a club we will be up for the challenge. We wouldn’t want it any other way”.
The clubs head of coaching Tim Rumford also endorsed the appointment and said “Jordan has really grown into the Captain – coach role over the three years he’s been with us and the success he has achieved is testimony to his desire to constantly improve both himself and those around him”
“He has great rapport with the players and has shown he can motivate the group when its needed the most – We all look forward to continuing the progress we have achieved at the club over the past few years and with Jordan in position as Captain – coach we will be well placed to do that”.
The club will begin more details of retentions and recruitment in the coming weeks as the we prepare for the 2024 pre-season.
