Brothers Cairns is proud to announce its continued support for Make-A-Wish Australia, donating $10,000 as part of its Scoring Points for Make-A-Wish initiative.
The reigning 2024 three-peat premiers, including the A Reserve and Under 19s teams, contributed to this initiative by raising $5 for every point scored throughout the season. This effort resulted in a remarkable total of $7,380. However, to meet their $10,000 target, Group General Manager Jason Salecich stepped in to ensure the full $10K was donated.
“Our senior teams had an outstanding season,” said Salecich, “we set an ambitious goal of $10,000, and while they came close, Brothers had no hesitation in topping it up. It’s all about supporting Make-A-Wish, who provide hope to children with critical illnesses.”
Sally Bateman, CEO of Make-A-Wish Australia, said, “It is wonderful to have the support of Brothers Cairns. Right now, Make-A-Wish is supporting over 900 children on their wish journey. This important initiative will help us bring much needed hope to these sick kids and their families at a time when they need it most.”
With finals season upon us, Salecich expressed his gratitude for everyone’s support, “This is a special time of year for the Club. The support from our members and community is invaluable, not just for the Club, but for initiatives like these that make a real difference.”
