Last week Brothers Cairns Rugby League Engagement Program hosted the first and very successful, ‘Footy & A Feed’ at Stan Williams Park. This free program aimed to encourage kids aged 6-14 to get together during the school holidays, play fun footy games, and enjoy a delicious lunch to end each day.
Over 60 children attended the two day program, taking part in various football activities lead by Cairns Brothers Rugby League Football Club Head of Coaching, Tim Rumford and Development Officer Jordan.
The children also got to meet and hear from representatives from PCYC, Officer John Levi from the Queensland Police Service who discussed key issues in the community for youths, and Sunbus who chatted with the kids about using their services.
A big thank you goes out to Brothers Leagues World of Entertainment and associate sponsors Patinos Personal Lawyers for supporting this project. Also to all the committee and volunteers for helping to feed the kids and make this program such a great success.
Both the staff and kids are looking forward to the next Footy & a Feed program!
